Callaway-Montgomery Cattlemen's Association accepting scholarship applications

Callaway-Montgomery Cattlemen's Association Scholarship Committee is accepting applications through April 10. Scholarship recipients will be honored at the annual county association banquet held each January.

Two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded in each county and one $500 scholarship will be warded to a current post-secondary student that meets the guidelines.

The application asks students to answer questions regarding their future goals, agriculture involvement and community involvement. It also asks applicants to submit an essay with the guiding question, "How has the beef industry influenced you today and your future plans?"

Applicants will be scored on a point system:

•Leadership, 20 points;

•Community Involvement, 15 points;

•Agricultural Involvement, 20 points;

•Scholastic/Academic, 10 points;

•Cattlemen's Association Involvement, 20 points;

•Work history, 5 points; and

•General Impression, 10 points.

Applicants need to have high school senior status or be a full-time college student.
