South Callaway opens with run-rule win over Centralia

Senior Terry Miles struck out five batters in a complete-game effort, powering the Bulldogs to a 12-1, five-inning season-opening triumph over the Panthers on Monday.

Miles gave up an unearned run on four hits, while giving up three walks.

Leading 4-0 after three innings, South Callaway erupted for eight runs in the bottom of the fourth to push out to a 12-0 cushion.

Junior Cameron Richardson finished 3-for-3 with three RBIs, a pair of doubles and a run scored. Senior Trevor Miller went 2-for-2 with an RBI, a double and a run scored, while senior Mason Shoemaker was 2-for-2 with two doubles and two runs scored to round out the Bulldogs' 13-hit attack.

South Callaway - the No. 3 seed in the Show-Me Conference Tournament - will play at No. 6 Eugene at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
