A Fulton man suffered serious injuries after crashing into another vehicle on Route Z in Boone County Tuesday.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, Ricky Tiefenauer, 57, of Fulton, traveled northbound on his 2011 Victory Motorcycle when he attempted to pass Sarah Lee, 19, of Columbia, as she turned her 2003 Ford Winstar Van left. The vehicles collided, and Tiefnauer went off the side of the roadway, struck a road sign and was ejected from the motorcycle. He was transported to the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia. Lee was not injured.
The report states Tiefnauer was wearing a safety device. His motorcycle sustained extensive damage, according to the report. The van was damaged moderately and able to be driven away from the scene.
