A local woman is hosting a donation drive for a Williamsburg family that recently lost its home and belongings in a fire on Tuesday.

Amanda Cloud, assistant manager of the rent-to-own store Aaron's in Fulton, is accepting anything and everything - clothes, furniture, toiletries, pillows and blankets, plates and bowls - for Jason and Tonya Ballard and their 16-year-old daughter who lived on the 500 block of State Road D. Jason Ballard is an employee of the store.

"You name it, they need it," Cloud said.

Specifically, Cloud is in need of men's 34x34 pants, men's extra large T-shirts and women's extra large T-shirts. She said she is also accepting monetary donations and gift cards if people want to help, but are unsure about what to purchase. Those donations, Cloud said, will be kept in a secure location.

Donations can be dropped off at Aaron's, located at 1875 North Bluff Street in Fulton. The store is open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, and is closed on Sundays.

Cloud said she cares deeply for the Ballards and feels obligated to help them through a difficult time.

"It's just something I have to do," she said.
