A Columbia man was taken into custody, Thursday, for drugs and gun violations after a traffic stop in Callaway County.
Missouri Highway Patrol reports show a trooper stopped a vehicle driven by Duncan Fortner, 26, for a registration violation on Route F, near Hawk Lane.
During the course of the traffic stop, inconsistencies and deceptive behavior of the driver led the trooper to ask for consent to search the vehicle, which was granted.
The trooper located approximately one gram of methamphetamine, three oxycodone pills, drug paraphernalia and a shortened .22-caliber rifle.
Fortner is facing charges for possession of a controlled substance, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia and illegal possession of a firearm.
