The New Bloomfield Wildcats and the Valle Catholic Warriors will have to wait a little longer to clash for the Class 2 state baseball championship.
The title game - with first pitch scheduled for 1:30 this afternoon - has been pushed back to 4 p.m. due to excessive rainfall and thunderstorms in the St. Louis area.
The Wildcats (17-9) blew past the Norwood Pirates 15-2 in five innings on Wednesday to advance to today's championship round.
The Warriors (29-5) - top ranked and defending Class 2 champion - moved to the title match via an 11-1, six-inning romp of the West Platte Blue Jays 11-1 on Wednesday afternoon.
The third-place game between the Pirates and Blue Jays was cancelled. Both teams will be awarded third place.
