Gatson scores 31 as Lady Blue Jays triumph over SLIAC foe Webster

Junior guard Kasey Gatson supplied a game-high 31 points in the Lady Blue Jays' 63-58 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference road triumph over the Webster Lady Gorlok on Saturday afternoon.

The Lady Gorlok (7-10, 4-6 SLIAC) led 33-28 at halftime and stretched that advantage to 41-30 on Cassie Endicott's jumper with 16 minutes, 33 seconds remaining.

Westminster (9-5, 8-2 SLIAC) took the lead for good on junior guard Sadie Theroff's jump shot with 2:47 left.

Gatson finished 11-of-20 from the floor, while Lady Blue Jays sophomore forward Andrea Zalis logged 10 points and a team-high eight rebounds.

Westminster shot 38 percent (18-of-47) from the field and 70 percent (23-of-33) from the free-throw line.

Ashley Brooks paced Webster with 16 points. Endicott added 14 points, while Brittany Harris-Conway finished with 12 points and a game-high 10 rebounds.

The Lady Gorlok shot 36 percent (21-of-58) from the field and outrebounded the Lady Blue Jays 43-32.

Westminster hosts SLIAC foe Principia (Illinois) College at 6 tonight. The Lady Blue Jays topped the Lady Panthers 63-52 on Jan. 6 in Elsah, Illinois.
