New Bloomfield boys top Russellville

Freshman forward Jak Kitchens paced four Wildcats in double figures in their 66-54 Show-Me Conference win over the Indians on Tuesday night.

Kitchens supplied a game-high 18 points for New Bloomfield (13-11, 3-3 SMC).

"He's stepped up and taken a big role," Wildcats head coach Tim Gilmore said of Kitchens. "... He's starting to score the ball with confidence, which is a good thing to have in addition to other scorers on this team."

The Wildcats entered halftime ahead 33-25.

New Bloomfield senior forward Brady Wiler added 15 points, while junior guard Jacob Brown supplied 14. Junior guard Grant Nichols finished with 12 points.

"I liked our balanced scoring, four people in double figures was nice," Gilmore said. "They threw some different defenses at us and I'm proud of how our kids handled it."

Zach Voss led Russellville with 16 points, while Levi Anderson chipped in with 13.

New Bloomfield ends the regular season at SMC foe St. Elizabeth at 6 p.m. Thursday.
