New Bloomfield was outscored 23-15 in the final quarter to fall to Novinger 72-66 in a battle of the Wildcats on Saturday at MACC in Moberly.
After trailing 11-10 after a quarter, New Bloomfield pulled ahead 32-31 to end the first half. They held a 51-49 edge after three quarters before Novinger closed out the game in the final 8 minutes.
Junior guard Grant Nichols registered a team-high 24 points for New Bloomfield (10-11). Freshman forward Jak Kitchens pitched in with 15 points.
New Bloomfield hosted Chamois in a Show-Me Conference clash on Monday night. Results were not available at press time.
