Westminster swept by Washington University-St. Louis

The host Lady Blue Jays managed just four hits combined in dropping a non-conference doubleheader to the Lady Bears on Friday.

Westminster College (10-19) was out-hit 18-1 in a 13-0 five-inning loss in the night. Freshman center fielder Kim Morrison supplied the Lady Blue Jays' only hit, finishing the day 1-for-2.

Sophomore Charlotte King allowed nine runs, seven earned, on 11 hits without registering a strikeout in two innings to take the loss for Westminster.

The Lady Bears scored three runs in the first, five in the second, posted three more in the third and scored twice in the fourth.

Freshman center fielder Amber Tepen and sophomore catcher Alyssa Johnson were 2-for-3 and 1-for-3, respectively, as Westminster bowed 10-0 in six innings in the opener.

Washington (27-9) opened by scoring three runs in the first, four in the fourth and added three more in the sixth to end the game.

Sophomore starter Alyson Hahn struck out 10 in the complete-game loss for the Lady Blue Jays. Hahn (8-9) allowed 10 earned runs on 12 hits and walked one.

The Lady Blue Jays were swept in a St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader at Fontbonne University on Thursday, bowing 23-3 in five innings in the first game and 10-0 in six innings in the nightcap.

Westminster - which has lost six in a row - continued SLIAC play with a doubleheader at Spalding (Kentucky) University on Saturday. Results were not available at press time.
