William Woods shuts out Williams Baptist for AMC win

Sophomore midfielder Anthony Moscatello and freshman forward Julian Wells both scored goals in the Owls' 2-0 American Midwest Conference win over the Eagles on Saturday.

Freshman goalkeeper Conor Cable made two saves in posting his fourth shutout of the season and the sixth for William Woods University as a team. The victory was the second straight for the Owls, who improved to 7-1-1 overall and 2-1 in the AMC.

Moscatello's goal came in the 35th minute, off an assist from senior defender Jacob Hawes. Wells supplied William Woods' other goal in the 40th minute, assisted by senior midfielder Paulo Conelian.

The Owls finished with 13 shots, including six on goal, and five corner kicks. Williams Baptist College (4-3-1, 2-2) was limited to seven shots - only two coming on goal - and had just one corner kick.

William Woods hosts AMC opponent Missouri Baptist University at 7 tonight at Firley Field.
