North Callaway tumbles agains EMO foe Wright City

The Ladybirds fell to 2-7 on the season and 0-3 in the Eastern Missouri Conference after Tuesday night's 25-12 and 25-23 loss to the Lady Wildcats.

Junior middle hitter Bethany Bloss paced North Callaway with nine kills, 10 digs and two blocks, while fellow junior middle hitter Destri Eichman added five kills, 11 digs and a block. Junior setter Bailey Langworthy supplied 15 assists and seven digs, and senior setter Emily Montgomery chipped in with 12 assists, seven digs and a block.

"Our first set, we didn't play very well and not like the team I know they are," Ladybirds head coach Amy Spence said. "That second set we played well.

"We were making plays and executing them (in that set), and that was the difference."

North Callaway (1-8) dropped the junior varsity match 25-17 and 25-15.

The Ladybirds go to Bowling Green for an EMO match at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
