Junior defenseman Sarah Krispin posted the Lady Owls' goal as they finished their AMC opener tied with the Lady Scots 1-1 after two overtimes on Saturday.
William Woods (1-3-1, 0-0-1) finished the game outshooting Lyon 17-7.
Krispin scored in the fourth minute on an assist by senior midfielder Rachel Meyer, an advantage that stuck for almost 80 minutes.
Lyon (3-0-1, 1-0-1) notched the tying goal in the 83rd minute on a shot by junior midfielder Anna Waldman via an assist from junior midfielder Monica Ayala.
Sophomore goalkeeper Brittany Griffin finished with one save.
The Lady Owls continue AMC play with a home clash against Park University at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
