William Woods women fall in double OT to Culver-Stockton

The Lady Owls are still seeking their first win of the season after bowing to the Lady Wildcats 3-2 in double-overtime on Friday afternoon.

Culver-Stockton College forward Alyx Seats produced the game-winning goal on an unassisted effort in the 106th minute.

William Woods University (0-2) took the lead in the 4th minute on a strike by senior forward Jamie Palermo off an assist from junior midfielder Jordan McNamara.

Lady Wildcats forward Callie Fackler countered with an unassisted goal in the 10th minute to tie the game.

Senior midfielder Brittainy German then put the Lady Owls back on top at 2-1 with an unassisted goal in the 53rd minute.

Seats' goal 5 minutes later - off an assist from defender Abby Grawe - pulled Culver-Stockton even again.

William Woods sophomore goalkeeper Brittany Griffin finished with three saves as each team produced six shots on goal.

The Lady Owls host Westminster College in a crosstown matchup at 3 p.m. today.
