BOONVILLE - The Boonville Pirates tallied two second-half goals to take control Tuesday night in sending the Fulton Hornets soccer team to a 3-1 North Central Missouri Conference loss.

Boonville jumped out to a quick lead on Tyler Drew's goal in the 3rd minute of the first half. Fulton (2-2, 1-1 NCMC) then pulled even in the 17th minute when senior midfielder Davide Lazzari - a foreign-exchange student from Italy - delivered an unassisted goal.

The Pirates managed just three shots on goal in the second half, but scored on two of those to go in front to stay. The Hornets were unable to convert on their seven shots on goal over the final 40 minutes.

Fulton was blanked in the junior varsity match 9-0.

The Hornets return home for an NCMC match against Marshall at 5 p.m. today at the high school athletic complex.
