Blair Oaks downs Fulton in straight sets

Junior outside hitter Madison Droeste collected a game-high 11 digs in the Lady Hornets' 25-10, 25-23 loss to the Lady Falcons on Tuesday night at Roger D. Davis Gymnasium.

Fulton (0-3) bounced back from the rough outing in the opening set and impressed first-year head coach Coleman Lee with the resolve it showed in the closing game.

"Honestly, I was proud of our effort and it was our toughest test to date," Lee said. "The way the girls battled back in the second set, it proved we can play with anyone with our ability."

Senior setter Kat Berrey dished out six assists for the Lady Hornets and junior middle hitter Rylea Troesser led with four kills. Senior middle hitter Madison Murphy ended the game with two blocks.

"We're just a little timid at times. We still haven't gotten to the level of confidence needed to finish games," Lee said. "If we can play to our ability throughout rather than in spurts, we'll start winning some games."

Fulton (0-3) dropped the junior varsity match 25-9 and 25-17.

The Lady Hornets play at Eugene at 5 p.m. Thursday.
