Westminster bests Principia for double-overtime SLIAC win

Sophomore forward Drew Cook netted the game-winning goal in double overtime to push the Blue Jays to a 1-0 SLIAC win over the Panthers in their home finale on Saturday at Westminster Field.

Cook scored off an assist by freshman backer Brendan Smith in the game's 106th minute.

Westminster (7-7-1, 5-3-1 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) doubled up Greenville 10-5 in shots on goal. Blue Jays sophomore goalkeeper Raul Belman Romero logged five saves in recording his third shutout of the season.

Romero allowed one goal in two games last week to earn SLIAC Defensive Player of the Week honors.

The Blue Jays - third in the conference standings - play a SLIAC game at Fontbonne at 8 tonight.
