William Woods tumbles in AMC loss to Hannibal-LaGrange

The Owls' four-match unbeaten streak was snapped in a 2-1 American Midwest Conference loss to the Trojans on Thursday.

William Woods University (8-2-2, 3-2-1 AMC) took an early lead on senior midfielder Sebastian Burich's unassisted goal in the 14th minute.

Hannibal-LaGrange University evened the match in the 53rd minute when Joao Junqueira scored off an assist from Manuel Saez. Ithamar Junior tallied the decisive goal - assisted by Nil Lamana - in the 57th minute.

Freshman goalkeeper Conor Cable notched two saves for the Owls as both team finished with four shots on goal.

The Owls continue AMC play at Benedictine University-Springfield (Illinois) at 3 p.m. Saturday.
