South Callaway falls to Fatima in District 10 title game

Sophomore starter Konnor Arrowood drove in all four of her team's runs, but pitched just 1 1/3 innings in the third-seeded Lady Bulldogs' 7-4 loss to the No. 1 Lady Comets in the Class 2, District 10 championship game on Saturday.

South Callaway - winners of two straight district titles and last year's Class 2 runner up - finishes its season at 19-9.

Fatima scored three runs apiece in the first and second innings to chase Arrowood. She hit a grand slam in the top of the third inning to bring South Callaway to within 6-4. The Lady Comets logged their final run in the bottom of the fourth.

Arrowood allowed six runs - three earned - on five hits, while walking one and registering a strikeout.

Senior first baseman Kaitlyn Loucks was 2-for-4 with a double, while Arrowood was 1-for-4 as the Lady Bulldogs posted nine hits.

South Callaway ousted No. 2 Linn 7-2 in a semifinal game on Saturday.

The Lady Bulldogs fell behind 2-1 in the bottom of the third, before plating two in the fourth and four in the seventh.

Sophomore Nicole Horstman finished 2-for-3 with two RBIs and senior second baseman Paige Brown was 2-for-4 with two driven in. Junior Kennedy Farley was 1-for-3 with a pair of RBIs to highlight South Callaway's seven-hit output.

Arrowood struck out 12 in a complete-game, one-hit performance. She walked three, while allowing two earned runs.
