Lady Owls volleyball team stays perfect in AMC

The William Woods University Lady Owls volleyball team remained unbeaten in the American Midwest Conference with Tuesday night's 25-15, 25-11 and 25-19 triumph over St. Louis College of Pharmacy at Anderson Arena.

The victory was the second in a row for William Woods University, which improved to 13-9 on the season and 4-0 in the AMC. St. Louis College of Pharmacy dropped to 4-5 overall and 1-4 in conference play.

Sophomore middle blocker Stephanie Davis directed the Lady Owls with 10 kills, followed by freshman outside hitter Abbi McKnelly with nine and senior outside hitter Kristen Bauer and freshman outside hitter Abby Ferguson with seven apiece.

Freshman setter Brittney Engelbrecht led William Woods with 35 assists and six digs, while senior defensive specialist Abbie O'Mara logged a team-high 14 digs.

The Lady Owls continue their homestand with an AMC match against Lindenwood University-Belleville (Illinois) at 7 tonight.
