Lady Bulldogs' Finney claims all-SMC cross country status

WESTPHALIA - South Callaway junior Dariyn Finney earned all-conference honors by taking 10th place in 24 minutes, 56.60 seconds to guide the Lady Bulldogs at the Show-Me Conference cross country championships Tuesday.

Also placing for South Callaway were a trio of freshmen - Elli Luebbert, 19th in 27:42.77; Greta Cross, 20th in 29:05.67, and Ashley Potter, 22nd in 31:40.32.

Senior Terry Miles was South Callaway's lone runner in the varsity boys' division, finishing 19th in 21:03.04.

Picking up all-conference status for South Callaway in the junior varsity boys' race were a pair of freshmen - Austin Clubb, sixth in 22:43.84, and Nick Rodriguez, 10th in 23:49.98.

Finishers for the Bulldogs in the middle school boys' race included Daniel McDonald, 11th in 10:45; Brendan Smith, 31st in 13:26; Nathanael Shuler, 36th in 15:46; Sam Jennings, 37th in 18:06, and Ceiran Dillard, 38th in 18:27.

Placing for the Lady Bulldogs in the middle school girls' race were Aubrey Atkins, 19th in 13:27; Mattie Hampton, 20th in 13:33; Ember Atkins, 24th in 14:22, and Samantha Thieret, 26th in 14:44.

South Callaway's varsity teams compete at the Capital City Invitational in Jefferson City at 9 a.m. Saturday.
