MEXICO - Junior Steven Coleman and senior Jaida Gray were the Thunderbirds' and Ladybirds' only qualifiers for sectional competition at Saturday's Class 3, District 4 championships.
Coleman surpassed his own school record by winning the 110-meter hurdles in 14.73 seconds. He prevailed in the 300 hurdles in :40.2. Gray advanced with her fourth-place finish in the 400 (1:02.69).
The North Callaway boys (26 points) and girls (18) both came away with 12th-place team finishes.
