Gary L. Fowler of New Bloomfield started having a medical problem while he was driving in the 700 block of US 54 East Monday night. At about 5:46 p.m., Fowler's medical problem caused him to run his 2011 Toyota Tundra off the left side of the road.
He went through the median, crossing westbound lanes, went down an embankment and then into the Katy Trail Depot Park. The truck went through a wooden fence and hit a large concrete block, which caused the vehicle to roll over onto its side.
EMS treated the driver on the scene for minor cuts and scratches. He was wearing a seat belt and his airbag did deploy during the accident.
