The Callaway County United Way will be holding their annual, all-day radio-a-thon on Friday, Sept. 27 to kick off their fundraising year.
Beginning at 6 a.m., the event will broadcast live on KFAL from the Fulton Walmart parking lot. This year, the event will include a Red Cross blood drive, an auction, a barbecue, live interviews from partner United Way agencies and The Callaway Cruise, a car and motorcycle show. Wrestler Jack Gamble will make a personal appearance at 4:30 p.m.
And as always, the United Way is always looking for volunteers.
"Anyone willing to come down to help is always welcome," said Glenn Harris, board president of the Callaway County United Way. "There's always something to do."
The auction will open when the radio-a-thon begins, and will feature over 100 items. Gifts cards from local businesses and restaurants like Bek's and Sir Winston's, tickets to shows in Branson, Boy Scout popcorn, a wine tasting, an autographed baseball and more will be available.
