Celebrate America set Sunday in New Bloomfield

With the Gallery of 100 Flags flying nearby, New Bloomfield area residents will gather Sunday for their sixth annual Celebrate America event.

Celebrate America will be 3-6 p.m. Sunday in the New Bloomfield City Park.

"We honor area veterans and invite the community and area residents to come together for an old fashioned outdoor party," organizer Jane Hurtt said.

The Gallery of 100 Flags will be displayed around the New Bloomfield Cemetery.

"We have purchased new flags and they will be flown for the first time at this event," Hurtt said. "We are proud of the success of this event in the past and look forward to an even greater success this year."

The annual event is sponsored by the New Bloomfield Area Civic Association.

Participants are urged to bring their own lawn chairs for the event in the park next to the New Bloomfield Fire Protection District building. A new shelter has been erected in the city park.

Music for the event will be provided by Lydia Garwood starting at 3 p.m., "The Posse" Band will perform from 4 to 6 p.m.
