No. 6 Bulldogs gear up for ‘great game’ vs. unbeaten ’Cats

— — South Callaway head coach Tim Rulo strongly emphasizes that his state-ranked Bulldogs haven’t concerned themselves with their positioning in the Class 2, District 6 standings.

With the start of district play a week away, South Callaway — ranked No. 6 in Class 2 — hosts the unbeaten Montgomery County Wildcats in what is arguably the most anticipated showdown in mid-Missouri tonight. Kickoff is at 7.

The Bulldogs — whose only loss this season came against Class 4 (Columbia) Battle — are 7-1 after flattening Father Tolton 48-0 last week in Columbia. The Wildcats, directed by John Klekamp, one of Rulo’s former assistants, are 8-0 after overpowering Cuba 42-0.
