The Callaway Singers will be holding their concert "An American Tribute" on Sunday, May 5 at 2 p.m. in Dulany Auditorium on the William Woods University campus. An additional concert will be held on Thursday, May 9 at 7:00 p.m. in the same location.
"We chose to have two concerts because the past two we've had have been standing room only," Marlene Railton, director of the Callaway Singers said. "So we decided to add the matinee for people who might not like to drive at night."
Following the title of the concert, the songs performed will follow a patriotic theme that focuses on music from the 1940s. Songs featured will include "I'll be Seeing You," and "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy." The concert will be comprised of a series of solos, trios, vingettes, and group performances.
"The last song we do is a patriotic theme of all five branches of the armed forces," Railton added.
