Hornets topple Mexico behind early goals

Fulton fowards Zach Thomas and Kevin Wallace connected on a pair of goals in the opening minutes of the Hornets’ 3-1 North Central Missouri Conference win over the Mexico Bulldogs on Saturday at the high school athletic complex.

Wallace — a sophomore — fed the senior Thomas for scores in the 3rd and 4th minutes to establish Fulton’s two-goal lead. Mexico’s Elijah Robinson tacked on a goal in the 18th minute, but senior midfielder Ben Kucera put the Hornets back up by two on an assist from junior forward Trevor Neal two minutes into the second half.
