Callaway, Pirates sink Hornets

BOONVILLE - It was all Kelsey Callaway, all the time and all she wrote for the Fulton Hornets' football season.

Callaway, a senior running back for the Boonville Pirates, racked up six rushing touchdowns and Fulton had no answer for him in a 48-28 loss in Thursday night's Class 3, District 6 opener.

Callaway scored three times in the two teams' previous meeting, a 47-21 North Central Missouri Conference victory by the Pirates on Oct. 5 in Boonville. The sixth-seeded Hornets gave up that many scores to Callaway within Boonville's first four possessions Thursday night, helping put Fulton in a 20-0 hole after the first quarter.
