At least one local resident is ready to step into his shoes. Callaway native Bryant Liddle announced Monday that he intends to run for the office of Eastern District County Commissioner in the August primary.

“It’s something I’ve been thinking about doing for several years, and with the seat being open this next year, I thought it was a good time to file,” Liddle said. “I’m a lifelong resident — born and raised — I’m very concerned about the way things take place in the county.”

He said he plans to listen to residents to find out their concerns and “make decisions based on what’s best for our community, my fellow citizens and the future of our county.”

“I’m just trying to get involved with the process and get a positive feel toward what’s going on these days,” Liddle said. “My intentions are to support the people of Callaway, and I wanted to get my name out as soon as possible.”
