This summer faster 4G LTE data services for cell phones will be offered in Callaway County, a U.S. Cellular representative reports.
Nathan Waddell, director of sales for U.S. Cellular in Missouri, said the cell phone firm plans to roll out 4G LTE service in much of Callaway County during the second half of 2012.
4G LTE is the next generation of cellular technology. LTE is an acronym for “Long Term Evolution” and represents advancement in wireless technology in order to provide big increases in both the speed and capacity of mobile networks.
Waddell said 4G LTE speeds are up to 10 times faster than current 3G technology. He said it is similar to a cable Internet connection. Waddell said 4G LTE speeds allow customers to begin watching a movie in seconds, enjoy smoother video streaming with little to no buffering and experience seamless video chatting with family or business associates.
“With 4G LTE speeds, you can quickly get what you want when you need it,” Waddell said. “Whether you’re trying to check the score of the game of download a movie to watch, you’ve got it at your fingertips. We’re committed to delivering products and services that simplify and enhance our customers’ daily lives. That’s why we are excited to bring 4G LTE to so many Callaway County customers.”
Waddell said the communities in Callaway County that will benefit from this network enhancement include Fulton, Holts Summit, Millersburg, New Bloomfield, Auxvasse, Hatton, Dixie, Calwood, Carrington, Guthrie, Hams Prairie, Reform, Toledo, Wainwright, Williamsburg, Yucatan, Readsville, Steedman, Portland, and Stephens.
