Briefing planned Thursday on Missouri River

Residents and farmers living along the Missouri River, which stretches along Callaway County's southern border, can receive a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers briefing Thursday afternoon in Jefferson City about predicted levels along the river this year.

The Open House will be at noon Thursday at the Truman Hotel and Conference Center, 1510 Jefferson St. in Jefferson City. The public meeting at 1 p.m. will follow the Open House event.

Each year the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has public meetings in various states along the river.

The meetings are designed to update residents, farmers, business and property owners about current hydrologic conditions in the Missouri River basin and planned regulation of the mainstem reservoirs during the coming months.
