HATTON — It’s almost time once again for this small, rural community to transform into a booming crafts festival.
From 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, thousands of people will descend on this small town to participate in the 39th annual Hatton Arts and Crafts Festival. This year, about 160 vendors have already made plans to set up their wares at the fair. Community members from all over the area also come in droves to volunteer their time and baked goods.
All the proceeds from the volunteers and a percentage of the vendors’ earnings go toward the Hatton Extension Club. The club uses the funds for upkeep of community facilities, donations to local groups and scholarships for local high school students who plan to attend college.
