Callaway County Red Cross volunteers will staff emergency shelters Thursday as part of a seven-state, week-long earthquake preparedness drill.
Red Cross volunteers in the Central Missouri Counties of Callaway, Cole, Camden and Cooper will conduct simulated shelter operations to deal with a mock earthquake emergency.
Simulated shelter operations for Callaway County will be set up from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday at the Callaway Christian Church at 2051 Silver Drive in Fulton.
Emergency response agencies in seven states around the New Madrid Fault will participate in a National Level Exercise 11 for earthquake preparedness through Friday of this week.
