AUXVASSE — For the first time since its inception, Auxvasse’s current zoning ordinance is being challenged by a resident who refuses to move his mobile home outside of city limits.
The ordinance, only a couple years old, states that mobile homes can not be placed within the city unless they are set in a mobile home park. Auxvasse police sited Jerry Wilkerson for violating this municipal ordinance by moving a mobile home into a residential-zoned district. He was charged with the violation in a recent municipal court appearance. Wilkerson pleaded not guilty and a municipal trial will take place on July 25.
