Fulton man arrested on DWI, drug charges

Timothy P. Brauner, 19, Fulton, is in Callaway County Jail after he was arrested by Fulton Police Sunday for illegal drug possession and driving while intoxicated by drugs.

Police reported that at 2:48 a.m. Sunday they were notified of a vehicle with the engine running in the Fulton Walmart parking lot, 1701 N. Business 54, and the driver appeared to be passed out.

A police officer awakened the driver of the vehicle and identified him as Brauner. After further investigation, Brauner was arrested for driving while intoxicated with drugs and for possession of a controlled substance.

Police reported they searched the vehicle and numerous items of drug paraphernalia were found, including several pipes, rolling papers, bath salts, and a small container of cocaine. A 12-pack of beer also was in the vehicle, police reported.

Brauner was taken to Callaway County Jail and his total bond was set at $15,000.

Brauner was still in jail late Monday afternoon.

Prior to his most recent arrest, Brauner was facing a series of charges in connection with a Sept. 24, 2010, arrest that included assault, resisting arrest, a weapons charge, possession of marijuana, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, and property damage. Brauner was scheduled to appear in Callaway County Circuit Court on April 29 to face those charges.

On Jan. 8, 2010, he pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana and was sentenced to 15 days in jail. He also pleaded guilty at the same time to unlawful use of drug paraphernalia and was sentenced to 10 days in jail for that offense.
