Raymond Alfred Morts, 87, of Fulton, Missouri, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2023 at St. Mary’s Hospital surrounded by family.
Raymond was born in Fulton, Missouri on April 2, 1935 to Charles and Ruth Morts (Nevins), who preceded him in death.
Raymond was united in marriage on October 15, 1954 in Fulton, Missouri to Iva Morts (Tevis), who survives.
Raymond was a retiree of Fulton State Hospital as a carpenter and locksmith. He worked as a special deputy for Callaway County Sheriff’s Department. His greatest joys were fishing, gardening, family and friends.
Raymond is survived by his wife, Iva Morts; two daughters, Karen Morts of Fulton, Missouri and Kathy (Marty) Hodges of Centralia, Missouri; one brother Ralph Morts of Arkansas; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and numerous niece and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kimberly Lynn Beardslee (Morts); son-in-law, David Beardslee; and three siblings, Harold Morts, Wanda Dean (Morts) Adams and Clyde Morts.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton, Missouri. Funeral service will immediately follow at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Jason Buckwalter officiating. Interment to follow at Reform Cemetery in Reform, Missouri.
