Kenneth (Kenny) Fay Holland, 84, passed away at Missouri Veteran’s Home in Mexico on Friday, February 24, 2023. He was born in Steedman, Missouri on August 12, 1938, to the late Ora Fay Holland and the late Sarah Ann “Sally” (McKinney) Davidson. Kenny was a member of the Church of God Holiness Reform. He served in the United States Air Force from 1956-1964. He owned and operated Holland Trucking Company from 1976 – 2000. He remembered his Air Force days fondly and enjoyed attending reunions with his military buddies. For 20 years you could find Kenny greeting every person at the front door of Maupin Funeral Home with a smile and kind words. Kenny never met a stranger and was a gentleman with a caring nature. He was a gifted storyteller who enjoyed singing and dancing. He loved his International tractors and riding in the tractor parade. Kenny was meticulous in all aspects of his life; from the way he never had a hair out of place to way he vacuumed the funeral home floors. Until health made it impossible, he was seldom idle, busying himself with endless chores, most likely whistling while he worked. Those remaining to cherish his memory include his wife, Shirley Poore; son, Kenneth Holland Jr. (Debra); daughter, Debra Ann Weaver (Dennis); brother, Hallie Holland; sisters, Patsy Maddox (Larry) and Nina Long; sister-in-law, Sharon Holland; grandchildren, Rondlayn Baise (Cory), Kenneth Holland III (Heidi), Michael Maddock (Heather), Brandy Dolman, Kylie Murray, Robert Maddock (Stephanie), Caitlin Holland; 21 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild on the way, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Pamela Sue Holland and brother Curtis Holland. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 3, 2023, at Maupin Funeral Home with Reverend Travis Saylor officiating. Friends will be received from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 2, 2023, at the funeral home. Interment will be at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville with full military honors. Memorial donations are suggested to Missouri Veteran’s Home in Mexico, Missouri c/o Maupin Funeral Home, 301 Douglas Boulevard, Fulton, MO 65251.
