Shirley Jean (Heidner) Bethell Reynolds

Shirley Jean (Heidner) Bethell Reynolds, 88, of Fulton, Mo., passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2022, at the Neighborhoods by Tigerplace.  Shirley was born on April 24, 1934, near Peoria, Kan., to Freddie Raymond Heidner and Neoma Eleanor (Latson) Heidner. In October 1951, she married Richard Warren Bethell of Pomona, Kan. in Eureka Springs, Ark. He preceded her in death February 2, 1991. In May 1993, she married John Reynolds of Ottawa, Kan. He preceded her in death April 20, 1997. Shirley began work at State Farm Insurance in Ottawa, Kan. in 1968, where she served as office manager until retiring in 1994, after 26 years. Shirley was also involved in several community activities including, Exemplar Chapter Beta Sigma Phi, Pomona Rebecca Lodge, Ottawa Rotary Anns, and the First Baptist Church of Ottawa Searcher Circle.  She loved cooking, gardening, floral arranging, and art of all kinds and was a painter herself.  In 2020, Shirley moved from her home in Kansas to be with her family in Missouri. She will be remembered by her loved ones including daughter, Shawna Bethell; daughter-in-law, Carolyn (Robbins) Bethell Anderson; grandchildren, Lance Bethell (Rose), Ashley Hackmann (Gary); great-grandchildren, Hunter, Savannah, Miles, Charlotte and Madelyn.  In addition to both of her husbands and parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her son, Michael W. Bethell of Fulton, Mo. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at Woodlawn Cemetery in Pomona, Kan. with Larry Brown officiating.
