Mary “Tinker” Lavon Maddox, passed away on Friday, September 30, 2022, at University Hospital. On March 8, 1947, Mary was born to the late Tub Maddox and the late Dorothy Marie (Atterberry) Maddox, in Mexico, Missouri. Mary was a lay speaker for the Methodist church for several years. She worked for Backer’s for many years and before retiring, held the title of Executive Vice President. In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her dog, Harriet, collecting antique dishes and fishing. Mary’s memory will be cherished by her family, including her brothers, Gary Pilger (Jane), Jim Maddox (Bubbles), and Mike Maddox (Becky); sisters, Tammie Denio (Larry), Sandy Blankenship (Wendell), and Starlet (Star) Ritter (Gerard); nieces and nephews that she considered her own, Darrell, Mark, Matt, Michelle, Autumn, and Misty; as well as many great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews; and her baby dog, Harriet. Along with her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her companion of 50 plus years, Harrison Blackburn; brother, Joey Maddox; and two sisters, Martha (Suzie) Maddox, and Barbara Carol. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, with Pastor Mike Crowson officiating at Maupin Funeral Home. Friends will be received from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at the Funeral Home. Interment will be at Atterberry-Benskin Cemetery.
