Christine Houchins

Christine Houchins, 89, of Fulton, passed away on Friday, March 18, 2022, at Boone Hospital. She was born in Reform on October 31, 1932, to the late Oran Garrett and the late Ruby (Shiverdecker) Garrett. On April 29, 1950, Christine married William Robert "Bill" Houchins, who preceded her in death on September 25, 2016. Christine was a woman of great faith and an active member of Church of God (Holiness). She faithfully read her Bible daily, enjoyed singing, and was an exceptional cook. Her greatest joy was found in her time spent with family, especially granddaughter, Nicole, and great-granddaughter, Evy. Prior to her retirement, Christine worked as a houseparent for Missouri School for the Deaf. Christine will be lovingly remembered by daughter, Mona Elliott and her husband Ron of Fulton; twin sister, Pauline Kroell; brother, Travis Garrett (Sharon); sister-in-law, Fay Garrett; granddaughter, Nicole Elliott (Mike Mullett); great-granddaughter, Evelyn; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Christine was preceded in death by brother, Harley Garrett. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 20, 2022, at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with Reverends Gary Garrett and Travis Saylor officiating. Friends will be received from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
