Bette (Klick) Spears

Bette (Klick) Spears, passed away on March 6, 2022, in Vadnais Heights, Minn. She was the youngest child of Gustav and Bertha Klick. She was born December 27, 1927, in the Toledo area in Callaway County, Missouri. She graduated from Fulton High School in 1945. Then for four years she taught in rural schools and attended Northeast Missouri State Teachers College where she met her husband, the late Charles Spears. They were married April 22, 1949. Bette is survived by three children, Gary (Fountain Hills, Ariz.), Bruce, Milwaukee, Wis. and Lynn, Vadnais Heights, Minn. and Mesa, Ariz. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Andrew Schmidt, Farmington, Minn., Jennifer Schmidt, Boston, Mass., Eric Spears Platville, WI, and Ethan Spears, Waunakee, Wis. and two great- grandchildren, Zephyr and Lochlan Spears. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth (Klick) Woods, and Edna (Klick) Vaughan and two brothers, Martin and E.R. "Bill" Klick. Bette loved to travel. After she retired in 1984, she and her husband took to the open road in their R.V. traveling over most of the United States. She also traveled to several islands as well as the Caribbean. She took a ship up the Danube River, visited Ireland three times, as well as Spain. She caravaned to Mexico for 30 years. Per her wishes there will be no services or other arrangements.
