Marvin Leon Richardson, age 80, of Fulton, Missouri, passed away Friday, February 25, 2022, at the University of Missouri Hospital, just over a month after the death of his loving wife, Ann. He was born September 15, 1941 in Boone County to Marvin R. Richardson and Corrine Richardson (née Welch). Leon was the youngest of six children born to Marvin and Corrine. His closest born brother was 13 years older than him, and as the baby of the family, he had many “parents.” Leon loved to tell stories of the many adventures of his brothers and one sister growing up in rural Boone County. Leon’s father was born in 1901 and reared most of his children through the Great Depression and it was a matter of distinction that he took good care of his family. Leon loved the farm life and often spoke of driving his father’s tractor to work the fields as a very young man. Leon was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses as a young man, and met his wife of 58 years, Ann, through a study of the Bible between their two families. Leon loved to tell others about his hope for the future, a future where he could clearly see himself and his family living in perfection and happiness. He carried this hope through his life and said he would see his kids again soon. His faith was unshakable. Leon was bright and had knowledge of many subjects. He worked as a mechanic for most of his life but also cut timber for making staves, and engaged in many construction projects. He could fix anything that was broken. His children often called him to ask how to do many things, even how to fry chicken. He loved the mountains, he loved hard work, he loved his family, and he will be missed by many people whose lives he touched. Left to mourn his passing are his children: Marvin “Ross” Richardson (Donna), Anna Marie Richardson, Jill Kathleen Richardson, and Calvin Owen Richardson (Melanie), all of Fulton. Grandchildren who will lovingly remember him include: Austin Tyler Richardson of Fulton, Gage Owen Richardson, and Abree Morgan Richardson, Emory Mueller (Cody), Alec Tylor Fields, Alexia Paige Todd, Timothy Allen Todd, Bradyn Christopher Todd, Garrett Lane Mischnick, Nathaniel Gage Mischnick; and two great-grandchildren: Carson James Mueller and Ryker Alan Mueller. Leon has many nephews and nieces who he loved and will miss him too. Leon was preceded in death by his wife, Ann; his parents; brothers, Bob, Bill (Donna), PL (Cris), Carson (Nancy) Richardson; an infant brother; and sister, Orpha Barnes who was married to AC. Memorial services will be held by zoom on Saturday, March 12, 2022. Please contact Jill at 573-310-1774 or [email protected] for information on how to join. All are welcome.
