Lowell Dean Vandeloecht, 90, of Fulton, Mo., passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2022, surrounded by his family at his daughter's home in New Bloomfield, Mo. Lowell was born on August 5, 1931, in Steedman, Mo., the son of Frank and Opal (Gilman) Vandeloecht who preceded him in death. On April 15, 1955, in Fulton, Mo., he was united in marriage to Phyllis Gueltzau. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War. He worked at Fulton State Hospital as a Carpenter Foreman, retiring after 32 years. Lowell and Phyllis were faithful and lifetime members of Steedman Methodist Church in Steedman, Mo., where they sang several duets together. He enjoyed tinkering and buying, fixing and selling old tractors. His favorite past time was entertaining the children by taking them on rides around the neighborhood on a trailer pulled behind his small tractor. Survivors include: his wife of 67 years, Phyllis Vandeloecht of the home; one son, Phillip D. Vandeloecht (Carrie) of Steedman, Mo.; two daughters, Cheryl Vandeloecht (John Bedsworth) of New Bloomfield, Mo. and Brenda Ollar (Mark Vinyard) of Portland, Mo.; eight grandchildren, Phillip L. Vandeloecht, Andrew Vandeloecht, Jessica Huff, Matt West, Tyler Gilleland, John Ollar, Josh Ollar and Jess McCloud; 16 great-grandchildren with one on the way and a special friend, Charla Street and her family. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Muriel Vandeloecht. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 15, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at Debo Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Bruce Williamson officiating. Burial will be in Steedman Cemetery in Steedman, Mo. with full military honors.
