Jewelene Virginia Childs, age 80, passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at Fulton Nursing and Rehab in Fulton. She was born on March 16, 1942, in McKittrick, Missouri, to the late Theodore Pete Kemp and the late Lorraine (Allen) Kemp. She was united in marriage to Donald Ray Childs on February 17, 1968. He preceded her in death on October 11, 2015. Jewelene was a licensed practical nurse at Fulton State Hospital until she retired. She enjoyed fishing, bingo, playing cards, traveling, and spending time with her grandkids. Those remaining to mourn her loss include children, Tracy Kemp of Jefferson City, Charles Kemp of Fulton, Roselee Wilson of Fulton, Stacy Childs (Lisa) of Columbia; brothers, Samuel Kemp of Roanoke, Va., Timothy Kemp of St. Louis, Thomas Kemp of Fulton, Johnny Kemp of Truesdale and Kenneth Kemp of Kansas City; as well as 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 17 great-great- grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Ann Kemp; brothers, Charles, Gilbert, Joseph, Alfred, and Allen Kemp; and sisters, Betty Brandt, Joan Kemp, Gladys Jones, and Sylvia White. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at Second Christian Church in Fulton with Reverend Melvin McCaleb officiating. Family and friends will be received from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at the church. Interment will be in St. Paul United Methodist Church Cemetery in New Bloomfield.
