Robert Thomas Cannell III

Robert Thomas Cannell III, 85, of Fulton, Missouri, went peacefully to his eternal home on February 19, 2022. Robert was born July 29, 1936, in Fulton, Missouri, the son of the late Robert Cannell II and Celesta (Powell) Cannell. On December 26, 1959, Robert was united in marriage to Sharon (Corgan) Cannell. She survives his passing. Robert proudly served the education of children, including those with disabilities, in St. Louis County, Missouri, University of Northern Iowa, Woodhaven in Columbia, Missouri, University of Illinois, Texas Tech University, Illinois State University, and as Principal and Special Education Director at North Callaway School District. Robert served as Chairman of the Presbyterian Manor Board in Fulton, as member of the Senior Center Board in Auxvasse, chairman of the Kingdom Christian Academy Advisory Board, served on the Board of Adjustment for the City of Fulton, and chairman and member on the Pastor Parish Relations Board at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church in Hatton, Missouri. Robert's greatest joy was his marriage to Sharon and the family they shared. Robert enjoyed camping, riding bikes, fishing, and playing card games with his children, grandchildren, wife, and friends. Those remaining to cherish his memory include wife, Sharon; daughter, Twila Collier (Derek); son, Douglas (Lucy); and grandchildren, Chelsea (David) and Dustin (Lauren). Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by younger brother, Carl Albert Cannell. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church in Hatton, with Pastor Paul Klepees officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
