David Lee Powers, 77, of Kingdom City, passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2022, at Boone Hospital. He was born in Fulton to the late Floyd Powers and the late Ruby (Estes) Powers on March 15, 1945. On April 15, 1966, David was married to Jean (Muir) Powers who survives his passing. For nearly 37 years, David earned his living working for AP Green in Mexico. He was baptized on October 6, 2019, and enjoyed attending church at Reform Church of God (Holiness). He enjoyed being outside and found true happiness in spending time with his grandchildren. He claimed watching granddaughter Hope was the most rewarding job he ever had. They spent many hours together riding the side-by-side, and walking the railroad tracks. David will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 56 years, Jean; son, David Powers (Jenny) of Fulton; daughters, Jeanna Powers of Fulton, and Tina (Kevin) Keeling of Hale; brothers, Ed Powers (Rachel) of Fulton, Joe Powers of Steedman, Kenny Powers of Steedman, and Jerry Powers of New Bloomfield; sister, Katherine West (Dennis) of Steedman; grandchildren Hope Craighead, Xavier Powers, Varyk Powers, Erica Benoit (Jared), Sheridan Bothe (C.J.), Sarah Keeling; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 21, 2022, at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with Reverends Dennis West and Nick Drake officiating. Friends were received from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment was in Reform Cemetery.
