Alan D. Epperson, or as most people knew him “HUB”, passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at Fulton Manor. He was born on April 22, 1957, in Fulton, Mo. Alan is the son of Robert R. and Emma J. Epperson. He graduated Fulton high school in 1975, and he retired from AT&T in 2012. Alan loved sports, especially St. Louis Blues Hockey, like everyone else in our family, he LOVED his Cardinal baseball! Alan excelled at many sports in life such as baseball, softball, hockey and golf. He is a six-time champion and three-time green jacket winner of the Fulton CC. His family and friends consider him one of the best trout fishermen to ever tie a fly, having caught numerous lunkers in his life. He loved fishing with his buddies, John, Mickey and Mark. Most of Alan’s favorite stories are with these guys in Colorado or Bennett Spring. Those who knew Alan knew of his profound love for dogs that you just had to see to believe. He had many friends over the years but none greater than his dog, Raider, who meant the world to him. Alan loved to spend time with his family. After he retired, he spent his time doing what he loved most, playing golf and fishing with his father Robert. They provided for countless family fish fries. He loved a great many things in his life, but his greatest joy was being the father to his two boys and devoted his life to them. Alan is survived by his parents, Robert R. and Emma J. Epperson; older brother, Jim and wife Nina; younger sister, Robin and husband Steve, many nieces and nephews; his two sons, Robert and Thomas, and his best friend, Raider, the most loyal companion any man could ask for. Celebration of life will be held on Friday, April 15, 2022, from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at the Fulton VFW. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Bennett Spring State park to the project of your choosing.
