Byron LeRoy Dysart, 68, of Los Angeles, Calif., passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2022. He was born in Fulton, Mo. on September 13, 1954, the son of Byron Bryce Dysart and Paralee Anne Dysart. He was the third of five children. LeRoy attended Fulton public schools through the ninth grade, attended Mt. Zion Bible School his sophomore year, and graduated High School at Overland Christian High in 1972. He went on to study Music and Theater at Westminster College and William Woods University from 1972 till 1976. A highlight of his college years was being hired by Disney to sing in a show ensemble called Kids Of The Kingdom from June to August of 1974, in Anaheim, Calif.; receiving college credits from Disney's California Institute of Arts. LeRoy was the Choir Director and Administrative Assistant to the Pastor at Table of Hope MCC November 1979 - June 1980. He was the Minister of Music at MCC Church of Christ in the Valley 1981 - 1988, Hollywood, Calif. LeRoy loved this job stating; "Choir Director, Worship Pianist, Vocal Soloist, and Accompanist. This was my favorite position, and the best job of my life." It was here that he wrote a Pop Opera for the church choir, and led them in well attended Christmas choir performances with full orchestra. From January 1990 - December 1995, he was a piano teacher in Fulton, Mo. averaging 35 students. There were other jobs through the years, but the jobs involving his music were by far his favorites. LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by Joy Dysart of Va., Judy Dysart of Pa., Jan Dysart of Md., and LeWain Dysart of Mo. A graveside funeral service will be held at the Callaway Memorial Gardens Saturday, April 9, at 2 p.m., on the east side of the cemetery. After the funeral, the family is hosting a fellowship time to visit with family friends at the Fellowship Hall behind the Church of God (Holiness) at 305 E 2nd St., Fulton, MO.
