Kevin C. LaVier, 38, of Fulton, passed away on Saturday, September 25, 2021. He was born in Brookfield, Missouri on January 6, 1983, to Lori (Staehle) Melte who raised him along with David Melte. Kevin was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hiking, fishing, and spending time at the river. He enjoyed wood working and tinkering with cars. Mostly, he liked to spend time with his children, family, and friends. Kevin is survived by his children, Lola, Joey, Jayden, and Ayla; mother, Lori Melte and her longtime partner, Alan McCracken; father, David Melte; fianc, Danielle Brewer; first wife, Cindy LaVier; sisters, Kelsi Espinoza (Mario), Sheanea Melte; half-sister, Kendra Gilmore; step-brother, Kegan McCraken; brother-in-law, James Smith; aunts and uncles, Anita and Tom Battle, and Michael Staehle; nieces and nephews, Christian, Aubrey, Natalia, Kira, Zander, Benson, and Naeson; several cousins; and best friend, Paul Demarco (Hilary), and their daughter, Paisley. Kevin was preceded in death by sister, Kayla Melte Smith; niece, Savanna Jo Smith; grandparents, Henry and Lois Staehle; and uncles, Alan and Joey Staehle. A funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 8, 2021, at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton. Friends will be received from 5:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
